Diagnostic engine connected. Describe the motor & vibration to begin.
› Operator Input — Describe Motor State
// Measurement Guidance
›FFT line resolution should be set to 800 lines to capture proper fault-frequency detail.
›For overall machine health, report overall vibration in mm/sec RMS or microns pk-pk.
›When reporting individual peak frequencies, use mm/sec or microns pk-pk — do not use RMS at the peak level.
›Even when motor & driven equipment are joined by a flexible coupling, analyse both units — motor-side faults can propagate to the driven machine and vice versa.
›Write the bearing details one by one to see the spectrum for the DE and NDE bearings separately.
›If the vibration peaks drop to zero instantly the moment power is cut, the fault is purely an electromagnetic rotor defect.
›To calculate the exact Stator Slot Passing Frequency (SSPF), physically count the open copper-filled slots on the inner circumference of the stator core during teardown.
